Friday night was a successful campaign for both Rockingham Flames Women's and Men's teams, despite a tricky first half for each of the games.
For the Women's - both teams started slowly with South West finishing the quarter 2 points ahead in a low scoring 16-14 period.
Q2 saw the Flames head to the paint for some points, scoring 16 inside and shutting the Slammers out for just 10 points in the quarter.
From there it was all Rockingham, jumping out to a 35 point lead in the 3rd quarter and then finishing up 64-90 winners to take a Round 3 win.
Amy Atwell, fresh from her FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup Championship was locked in with 27pts, 7reb and 5ast. Sami Whitcomb notched up a double-double with 18pts and 12 reb, together with Teige Morrell 13pts and 14reb.
A tough start for the Men at Eaton Recreation Centre, buoyed by the return of NBL1 MVP Isaac White and the debut of Michael Harris for Rockingham, the South West were not intimidated, leading the end of Q1 with a 28-24 lead.
Offensive transition was solid for Rockingham in the 2nd quarter with 12 fast break points in the period which was taste of things to come.
It was a complete second half shut-out from the Flames with a 65 points in 20 minutes to the Slammers 24 - ending the game 81-116 with a decisive win for Rockingham Men.
White was in red hot form with 34pts 8reb and 6ast, meanwhile NBL1 West leading rebounder Blake Jones continued his outstanding consistency with a third double double 25pts 21reb 2blk and 3ast.
Both teams move to a 2-1 record and head to Goldfields for Round 4 away.
