WABL Trials form Part 2 of our Representative Trial Process.

WABL is the premier junior competition in WA which aims to develop players for State Competition and beyond.
​
The Competition is run across 13 Associations, 11 of which are in Metropolitan Perth and then Mandurah & Bunbury just outside the catchment.
​
The Grading Tournament will be held in Mid - late February followed by the home and away season running between April & September

Fees
Registration / Trial Fee ($30) is payable at the point of registering to trial. Once selected in a team a minimum payment of $150 will be required after which full WABL Fees will be issued with payment required by 30th June 2024
Training Times and Expectations
All teams will train for 3 hours a week, athletes are expected to commit to this as part of their selection to a Rockingham Flames representative team. Training times are dependent on court availability and may be located at a number of venues across Rockingham, Baldivis and Kwinana. Most training sessions will be on either a Monday / Wednesday.
Uniform Requirements
Once selected to a team, athletes are required to purchase the following training uniforms either from the uniform shop or via the website prior to your first training session. Please note training uniform is compulsory for WABL athletes.

Player & Parent Codes of Conduct
When Athletes are selected to represent the Rockingham Flames, we expect both athletes and parents to abide by the BWA Zero Tolerance Policy.
Important information about Trials
Trials

Due to the large number of athletes interested and limited positions the tryout process is highly competitive.
-
A panel of coaches assess athletes across a range of skills and athleticism. Coaches discuss all athletes before forming teams. Please note that due to the large number of athletes who tryout it is often not possible to provide individual feedback on a player.
What should I bring to Trial

A basketball and drink bottle with your name clearly marked on them

A reversible training singlet – these are available for purchase at trials if required

Please DO NOT wear any school, academy, state or other Association clothing to trials

Registrations commence 30min before your trial starts, you MUST be ready to commence trials on TIME. Ie shoes on, stretched etc

Who can tryout for the Flames WABL Teams

All athletes wishing to trial for the Flames are required to play in our current Domestic Competition. Exemptions may be granted but must be applied for in writing before the trial process commences by contacting the WABL Committee
